As the cold creeps across NYC, we have a warming track from Label 55’s long time friend, Nick Slay aka The Ambition 1706
Nick is a New York City urban music educator and artist, who recently recorded the single, “She Cries at Night”. This song was written for all those women suffering in silence from Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse. Some of the funds raised from the sale of the track will be donated to Sanctuaries For Families via GoFundMe. They are one of New York’s leading service provider and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and related forms of gender violence.
This isn’t a sappy heal the world campaign wrapped in a ballad, in a few words, The Ambition 1706 and Amays Beats told us that “’She Cries at Night‘ is my blending of the Fabulous Life by Sheila E./Prince and Computer Love by Zapp & Roger. I used this song with a World Health Organization quote in German with a synth funk drive to discuss Domestic Violence and Sexual Violence towards women around the world.”
This music video features an all female cast, of the artists’ close friends who are actresses and from various Netflix shows, including Latina celebrity and social media influencer, Jessenia Vice, who is a domestic abuse survivor. A female director, Jay Dekony, was utilized to direct the video to make sure the story that wasn’t his own was told correctly.
What a great message for today, so please check the video below and show some support for all those who need it most.
